Camden City School District partners with Aramark Food Services to provide students free breakfast and lunch each school day. Aramark creates a monthly menu that aligns with District and US Department of Health regulations, such as:

• • Portion sizes and calorie counts (USDA)
  • Sodium, sugar, and carbohydrate counts
  • A balanced variety of food groups are offered to students over the course of each day and each week
  • Camden is a peanut and pork free district
  • Aramark prepares for and serves hundreds of kids in tight turnaround times

Menu Development

• Because so many Camden students take advantage of the free meal program, the Camden team has been very purposeful about the variety of choices available to our students.  In a District with fewer students receiving free lunch, Aramark runs a standard 6 week rotating menu.  
• Aramark works with the District to gather feedback on the menu.  This feedback is iterative and helps the menu development team to determine what meals students want to eat and what meals their parents want them to eat.
